Projects

Secrets are grouped by project, usually one per app you work on. The sidebar lists your projects, your tags and Recently Deleted.

The shared project is always there and can't be renamed or deleted. Its secrets reach every project: when you run accio my-app …, the command gets the keys in shared plus the keys in my-app. If both have a key with the same name, the one in my-app wins.

To add a project, choose Secrets > New Project… or click New Project at the bottom of the sidebar. Project names use lowercase letters, digits and dashes. Creating projects other than shared needs Fidelius Pro.

To rename or delete a project, Control-click it in the sidebar.

Add a secret

1. Select a project, then choose File > New Secret… or click the Add Secret button above the list.
2. Type the name, like OPENAI_API_KEY. Names use uppercase letters, digits and underscores.
3. Choose Text and paste the value, or choose File and drop a file such as a .p8 key (up to 512 KB). A command run with accio gets a file secret as the path to a temporary copy.
4. Add a note if you like, then click Add.

See, copy and edit a secret

Values stay hidden. Click the eye button to reveal one, or the copy button to copy it. Both ask for Touch ID or your password, then Fidelius stays unlocked until you've gone 5 minutes without revealing or copying. A copied value is cleared from the clipboard after 60 seconds.

Click Edit to change a secret. Click Replace to type or paste a new value (the old one isn't shown), add tags or a note, then click Done.

The Hide in agent output switch controls whether accio conceals this value when an AI agent runs a command. Turn it off for plain settings like NODE_ENV so logs stay readable. See What agents see.

Move, sort and find secrets

• To move a secret, Control-click it and choose Move to, or choose another project in its detail view.
• To sort a project's list, choose View > Sort By, or use the sort button above the list.
• To find a secret in any project, type in Search All Projects.
• Click a tag in the sidebar to see every secret with that tag.

Import a .env file

Choose File > Import .env…, choose the project, then click Choose File or Paste. Fidelius lists what it will add and overwrite, and saves nothing until you click Import.

From a terminal, run accio import in a project's folder. Fidelius opens the same preview.

After importing, the .env still holds the values in plain text. Delete it once your commands use accio. To go the other way, see Exporting a .env.

Delete a secret

Control-click it and choose Delete…, or select it in the list and choose Secrets > Delete…. Right after, a banner offers Undo for about 10 seconds. After that, the secret is still in Recently Deleted.

Lock Fidelius

Choose Secrets > Lock to lock right away. Revealed values are hidden, and the next reveal or copy asks for Touch ID again.
