Connecting AI agents
AI coding agents can use your secrets through accio without reading them. For that, an agent needs instructions: run commands with accio <project> <command>, list names with accio list, and never print values or search files for secrets.
Add instructions automatically
Choose Setup > Add to My Agents Automatically…. Fidelius finds the agents installed on your Mac and adds a marked "Secrets (Fidelius)" section to each one's global instructions:
| Agent | File |
|---|---|
| Claude Code | ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md |
| Codex | ~/.codex/AGENTS.md |
| Gemini CLI and Antigravity | ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md |
For each file you see the change first and click Add Instructions (or Update Instructions). Fidelius keeps the file's previous version, so you can undo it. See File changes.
When a new version of Fidelius changes the instructions, the Get Started list and the setup window say they are out of date. Run the command again to update them.
Other agents
For Cursor, Windsurf, Warp or any other agent, choose Setup > Copy Setup Prompt for Other Agents and paste it into the agent's chat. The agent adds the Fidelius section to its own rules.
What the agent sees
When an agent runs accio, secret values in the command's output are concealed. See What agents see.
