File changes
Some features change your own files: Install accio Command can add ~/.local/bin to your PATH and turn on Tab completion, which edit ~/.zshrc or your bash profile, or write fish files, Add to My Agents edits each agent's instructions file, and Export can add a rule to .gitignore.
Before any of these changes, Fidelius shows you the change and waits for you to confirm. It also saves the file's current version in File History, in ~/Library/Application Support/Fidelius/File History/.
Undo a change
- Open Settings and click File Changes.
- Find the change and click Undo. Fidelius shows what Undo will write before it writes anything.
Click Show in Finder to see the saved copy.
Keep File History private
Your shell files can hold tokens, and so can their saved copies. File History is readable only by you. Don't copy it into a dotfiles repo or a shared folder.
Files from older versions
- A
.fidelius-bakfile next to one of your files is a copy an older Fidelius made. It's also in File History now, so you can delete it. - A
.fidelius-writingfile means an update was cut short. It holds the complete original. Fidelius won't change that file again until you compare the two, keep the right one and delete the.fidelius-writingfile.
